Update: Market Street Teochew Kway Teow Mee has relocated. The new address has been updated at the bottom of this post.

A bowl of kway teow soup is what people usually have when they are not feeling well or do not have much of an appetite as it is non-greasy and not so heavy on the stomach.

I, for one, can have kway teow soup anytime of the day because I love soupy stuff; not necessary only when I am sick.

It is my comfort food and my backup plan when I have no idea what to have for my meal at the hawker centre.

Market Street Teochew Kway Teow Mee offers Teochew-styled noodles either dry or soup with your option of noodles like mee pok (flat noodles), mee kia (thin noodles), kway teow (flat rice noodles), macaroni, etc.

Their kway teow soup is served with minced meat and fish balls.

I ordered the $3 regular bowl which comes with bak chor (minced meat), two fish balls, fish cake, pork slices and slivers of mushroom on top of the kway teow.

Portion size is quite standard.

The soup is sweet tasting and very flavorful. This has got to be the most delicious kway teow soup that I have had so far.

The fish balls are springy while the pork slices tender and slightly chewy. The rest are pretty generic but on the whole, the kway teow soup is quite satisfying.

By the time this post was published, I had already went back for my second bowl of kway teow soup and this time, I ordered the $4 version which had a thumb-sized piece of sole fish and two jumbo dumplings.

Apart from minced meat fish ball noodle ($3/$4), the stall also sell dumpling noodle ($4/$5) and dumpling soup ($4/$5).

FYI, they do not sell fish ball noodle even though they have fish balls.

This stall is rather popular with the CBD crowd during lunch hour so be there early to avoid the long queue.
